​About cockroaches
German cockroaches are the most common indoor cockroach and the hardest to get rid of. They breed quickly, hide in warm, tight spaces like behind fridges, inside appliances, and under sinks, and mostly come out at night. If you see one in daylight, there are usually many more hiding. American and Australian cockroaches are larger and tend to come in from drains, roof voids, and gardens.

What happens during your treatment
Our technician identifies which species you have and inspects the likely hiding spots. We then apply a targeted treatment of gel baits and residual products in cracks, crevices, and the areas roaches travel through. Baiting works because roaches carry it back to the nest. We finish by explaining what we've done and what to expect over the coming weeks. Heavier infestations may need a follow-up visit.

Pro tip
Clean up food, grease, and crumbs, and fix leaking taps and pipes, but don't spray your own insecticides before or after treatment. Store-bought sprays can repel roaches away from the bait and make the problem harder to treat. Wait to wipe down treated areas until your technician says it's okay.

Spider Control

About spiders
Most spiders around Lake Macquarie are harmless, but redbacks, and the sight of huntsmen in the house, worry many families. Spiders move in because there are insects to eat and quiet places to hide, like eaves, sheds, letterboxes, garden furniture, and under decks. If you have lots of spiders, you probably have lots of insects.

What happens during your treatment
We treat webs and egg sacs on eaves, windows, and doorways, by applying a residual treatment to the outside of your home and the areas spiders prefer. We treat the inside where needed. Regular treatments reduce the insects that attract spiders and keep numbers down.

Pro tip
Turn outdoor lights off when you can, or swap to yellow bulbs. White light attracts insects, and the insects attract the spiders. Wear gloves when moving woodpiles, pots, and boxes, and keep the garden trimmed back from the house. If someone is bitten and unwell, seek medical advice.
